Microsoft announced the preview of ASP.NET 5 features


Recently Microsoft launches preview ASP.NET 5. Microsoft Announces It Will Open Source .NET and ASP.NET also runs on OS X and Linux with the Mono runtime. This will allow developers to build ASP.NET 5.0 applications that can be deployed and run on Windows, Linux and/or Mac environments. Microsoft also releases VS 2015 integrates the upcoming .NET compiler platform and updates and adds many new productivity tools. You can download visualstudio2015 from Microsoft site
It includes the following features:
  • Unified programming model that combines MVC, Web API, and Web Pages
  • A no-compile developer experience (Roselyn compiler used .You simply make changes in your code, save the changes, and refresh the browser. You can see code changes in the web browser without re-building the project.) that is amazing part  ASP.NET 5
  • Environment-based configuration for a seamless transition to the cloud.
  • Dependency injection out-of-the-box.
  • NuGet everything, even the runtime itself.
  • Run in IIS, or self-hosted in your own process.
  • ASP.NET 5 runs on Windows with the .NET Framework or .NET Core.
  • .NET Core is a new cloud optimized runtime that supports true side-by-side versioning.
